Sure-Board® for shear (patent #5768841)

Sure-Board® is a steel sheet bonded with specified substrates (gypsum board, exterior gypsum sheathing, Fiberock, etc.) that is installed on shear walls at points requiring shear. Sure-Board®, with gypsum board, has a smooth gypsum board facing that integrates with standard gypsum board for a smooth uninterrupted finish. Sure-Board® requires no leveling and is ready for finishes. Sure-Board® lays flat on the stud surface with no sagging, leaving no surface irregularities. When Sure-Board® is used, there is no need for additional structural sheathing or tension strap braces, that require costly and laborious pre and post tensioned installation. Sure-Board, with cementous board, is a component of Wellbilt's Sure-Board Wall Panel.
